The Southwestern Rottweiler Club of San Diego Specialties in March were dedicated to
the memory of a remarkable ambassador of our breed, whose legacy continues to inspire
and shape our community. We were grateful to all who entered and appreciated your continued support.

Loren Chiever, a beloved friend to many and a devoted Rottweiler fancier, passed away on December 20, 2024. His passion for Rottweilers and dedication to the breed left an indelible mark on the Rottweiler community.

Loren's journey with Rottweilers began in 1984, and over the years, he developed a deep understanding and appreciation for these magnificent dogs. Loren's commitment to excellence led him to title many of his Rottweilers as AKC Champions. During the 1990s, Loren also immersed himself in the sport of Schutzhund, a rigorous and demanding canine sport that further highlighted his dedication to the breed.

One of Loren's proudest achievements was being one of the first exhibitors in AKC to title a Rottweiler to their AKC Championship and hold a dual title of Schutzhund III. This remarkable accomplishment was a testament to Loren's unwavering determination and his dream of showcasing the breed's versatility and capabilities.

Loren's impact on the Rottweiler community extended beyond titles and achievements. He was one of the first Americans to import a German Tailed Rottweiler after docking became illegal in Germany. Loren's understanding of the breed's unique temperament led to no significance of the Rottweiler being tailed or docked and set him apart as a true advocate for the Rottweiler breed.

Loren was not only a passionate advocate and a dedicated exhibitor but also a friend and mentor to many. His guidance and mentorship have planted seeds that will ensure the future sustainability of the Rottweiler breed for years to come.

Loren Chiever's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the lasting contributions he made to the Rottweiler community. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for his friendship, passion, and unwavering love for the Rottweiler breed.
